1945 July 13 partisans of Obeliai, Kriaunai, Aleksandravėlė and other surrounding areas led by Balys Vaičėnas, Russian collaborator and regular units of the Soviet army take part in the battle. In the camp, partisans set up a bunker and dug up defensive trenches around them (surviving to this day). Unable to break the partisans resistance, the army was forced to switch to a frontal assault tactic: digging trenches and preparing for a long, open battle. The partisans, who had staged a counterattack, successfully retreated from the siege. It is known that during the fierce battle 7 Soviet soldiers died. 2003 a restored bunker and a memorial cross were consecrated.
