Treasury Museum of St. Apostle the Evangelist Matas Church

St. Apostle the Evangelist Matas Church is one of the most prominent works of Neo-Gothic style in the period of historicism. The treasure in it is equally impressive. The most common question is where all this came from. According to narratives and written material that reveals Count Reinold Tyzenhaus’s desire for guests to visit him to bring gifts not to him but to the church. It is also a treasure trove of around 150 movable values. Often, thoughts deviate from material value, but here they are more than material things, the traces of cultural and world-class values ​​in Lithuania. Many voters have been involved in the transformation of many of their values ​​into the LDM’s “Christianity in Lithuanian Art” exhibition, and all of them have been included in the list of cultural heritage in Lithuania and protected countries.
