Pakriaunys is a village in the Rokiškis district municipality, located 2 km north of Kriaunos, by the Kriauna River. The water mill, now in ruins, still stands. Nearby is the Pakriaunys Stone, marked with three “devil’s footprints.”
A water mill is a device that converts one form of energy into another, functioning as an engine that transforms the kinetic or potential energy of water into mechanical energy – torque. It operates using a waterwheel or a water turbine.
These devices were used for grinding flour, metalworking, and in the textile industry.
