Konstantinava Telmological (swamps) Reserve is a damaged swamp, which together with the nearby lake Skaistė forms a valuable wetland complex. In the larger part of the Konstantinava swamp there peat was mined.

The Konstantinava swamp is classified as a degraded upland swamp because of anthropogenic influences. As a result, the surface of the swamp dries out, species composition changes or even disappears. The plant communities of these swamps are composed of species typical for active upland swamp. Areas of swamps that can regenerate naturally are considered to be areas where peat-forming vegetation will recover within 30 years after the restoration of the hydrological mode.
