Kamajai St. Kazimieras Church

First wooden church in Kamajai was built in 1635. Where is now Kamajai prewiously were forests. Unfortunately, the first wooden church burned down in 18th century and another church was built in its place.True, it has already been extended and had a sacristy. This church eventually rotted. Finally, the construction of a new church was completed in 1903. Its shape reminds a cross, is a pseudo-gothic style, built of red bricks. Church had two 60 meter high towers. Unfortunately, they were destroyed by artillery shells in 1944 summer and remained unrestored. Locals says that such a church reminds of the Notre Dame de Paris.
