Independence Monument

A monument created by the sculptor Robertas Antinis (senior) was erected in 1931 in Rokiškis Independence Square to commemorate independence. During the Soviet era, beautiful urban spaces were attacked. Therefore, it was decided to plant square with low-value bushes, fast-growing trees, so that neither the church nor the manor house could be seen. It worked and the Independence monument remained undamaged.
